Palestinian sumac from the Fall Palbox

Your Fall Palbox Already Has Dinner Plans

Palestinian pantry ingredients are rarely made for just one recipe.

Sumac can brighten chicken, vegetables, salads, and dips. Olive oil begins a dish, finishes it, or becomes the dish when served with warm bread. Honey tahini can move from breakfast to baking and dessert without needing a complicated recipe.

Your Fall Palbox brings that practicality into your kitchen. Here are three easy ways to begin.

Palestinian sumac from the Fall Palbox

Recipe 1: Sumac Chicken and Roasted Potatoes

Bright and tangy, never spicy. One sheet pan and very little cleanup.

You will need: Chicken thighs or breasts, potato wedges, 2 tbsp Palbox sumac, 3 tbsp Palbox olive oil, juice of 1 lemon, 2 crushed garlic cloves, salt and black pepper, sliced onion (optional).

Make it: Mix the sumac, olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken and potatoes, add onion if using, then roast at 425°F for 30 to 40 minutes. Finish with another pinch of sumac.

Recipe 2: Crispy Chickpea and Sumac Pita Bowls

A quick dinner built from ingredients you may already have at home.

You will need: 1 can chickpeas (drained), tomato, cucumber, lettuce, or roasted vegetables, warm pita, Palbox olive oil, Palbox sumac, lemon juice, salt and black pepper, yogurt or tahini (optional).

Make it: Toss chickpeas with olive oil, sumac, salt, and pepper. Roast at 425°F for about 20 minutes. Add them to a bowl with vegetables, then dress with olive oil, lemon, and more sumac. Serve with warm pita and yogurt or tahini.

Recipe 3: Honey Tahini Lazy Cake

This simple Arab sweet proves that dessert does not need a long ingredient list.

You will need: Palbox honey tahini, plain tea biscuits.

Make it: Break the biscuits into bite-sized pieces and coat them with honey tahini. Press firmly into a parchment-lined container, freeze until set, then slice and serve cold. That is it.

These are only three ways to begin. Inside every Palbox, you will also find more Palestinian recipes, showing you how to use the ingredients while discovering the dishes and stories connected to them.
